Date Palm Irrigation

The irrigation of date palms is a key aspect of their cultivation, especially in arid areas, where this tree grows naturally. Although date palms are drought tolerant, a proper irrigation system can maximize their date production and improve their overall development.

Date palms have a deep root system, which allows them to efficiently utilize soil water during periods of intense heat or water shortage.

An irrigation plan that adapts to the different seasons of the year, using subway drip irrigation, guarantees sustainability and maximizes production. Controlled deficit irrigation in winter, together with intensive irrigation in the hottest months, allows a rational use of water, contributing to the sustainability of the aquifers and the production of high quality dates.
