Almond Irrigation

Almond cultivation in Spain has been carried out under rainfed conditions and in poor environmental conditions. However, in recent years, crop management is changing, extending production with irrigation water to more areas. This change has increased the productivity of the crop in Spain from the traditional 150 kg/ha of almond kernels to a maximum of 1,500 kg/ha. In other areas, such as California or Australia, the almond crop has shown an extraordinary performance under irrigated conditions, reaching average yields of more than 2,000 kg/ha of almond kernels (with maximums of up to 4,000 kg/ha) with very high irrigation allocations (more than 10,000 m3/ha and year).

With the DeepDrop® irrigation system, we are committed to increasing productivity by reducing high irrigation inputs, since we avoid water losses due to evaporation, runoff and percolation inherent to surface irrigation systems.
