LIFE Nieblas is an environmental rehabilitation project aimed at contributing to the mitigation of the effects of climate change. DeepDrop\u00ae devices allow water to be guided directly to the root system of trees and shrubs. degraded areas, demonstrating the effectiveness and efficiency of the fog water harvesting and irrigation systems used, in contrast to traditional methodologies.<\/p>\n<div class=\"row\"  id=\"row-282911527\">\n\n\t<div id=\"col-712829313\" class=\"col medium-6 small-12 large-6\"  >\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"col-inner\"  >\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">The project focuses on the recovery of forests in degraded areas, demonstrating the effectiveness and efficiency of the fog water harvesting and irrigation systems used, in contrast to traditional methodologies.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">The main area of action is located on the island of Gran Canaria, where 20,000 trees and bushes will be planted on 35 hectares with href=\"https:\/\/cabildo.grancanaria.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><br \/>\n  <span class=\"s2\">Cabildo de Gran Canaria<\/span><br \/>\n<\/a>which leads it together with the<\/span><span innovative methodology is used to capture water from the fog, which supplies water for irrigation to the areas where reforestation is being carried out.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\"> different technologies are used to irrigate the seedlings that will repopulate the areas to be reforested. These technologies are:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li1\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Individual collectors as an independent reforestation system.<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Cocoon degradable irrigation tanks (developed in another LIFE project &#8216;The Green Link&#8217;). <a href=\"https:\/\/thegreenlink.eu\/es\/inicio\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><br \/>\n  <span class=\"s2\">LIFE project &#8216;The Green Link&#8217;)<\/span><br \/>\n<\/a>).<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Water tanks with an autonomous discharge system (AFDS) and irrigation network.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Traditional reforestation as a control group.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\n<\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">And to these, the DeepDrop\u00ae irrigation system has now been added.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The DeepDrop\u00ae System has already proven <span  class=\" OP\" onclick=\"ljo_open('https:\/\/deepdrop.es\/en\/last-year-the-trees-were-dormant\/', '');\"><br \/>   <span style=\"color: #185d9a;\">excellent results both in agriculture and in gardens, and in areas with desertifying soils<\/span><br \/> <\/span><span style=\"color: #185d9a;\">and<\/span> in areas with soils in the process of desertification or with very harsh conditions for cultivation. DeepDrop\u00ae System customers achieve an average of 40-70% water savings over surface irrigation models and obtain crop production conditions with good plant health.
